Got lucky and after an hour of waiting got a ride to Whitehorse, they were going all the way to Fairbanks.

A fair bit of long-distance traffic stops at this Petro-Canada.

Hitching towards Alaska.

Pretty much the end of the town. A lot of tourists in RVs, but I don't have great experiences with them, it's harder to hitch a ride. After traffic lights cars are slow, drivers can see you and there's place to pull over.

However since tourists in RVs are not likely to pick you up, you can spend several hours here and I strongly recommend trying to talk to some people at gas stations, fast foods, etc. It's much easier.
